PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The TradeReady® SPAZZER®* 5400 is a galvanized, 16 gauge bar that is 50" long and pre-notched to rigidly hold studs on 16" or 24" centers. These slots have been pre-engineered to hold studs in place by utilizing a new concept in bridging. Until now, most bridging in steel studs has been accomplished with mechanical attachments, either screws & clips, or welding. TradeReady® SPAZZER®* 5400 uses "shear" to bridge steel studs into a rigid, accurately laid out, gridwork that has excellent resistance to stud rotation and displacement. The TradeReady® SPAZZER®* 5400 is simply passed through the stud punchouts, rotated 90 degrees, and then the pre-notched slots are seated down over the web of the stud.

Dietrich Metal Framing TradeReady® Spazzer® Steel Spacer

This new concept offers substantial reductions in both installation time and labor. Curtain wall framing can be installed up to 30% faster using TradeReady® SPAZZER®* 5400, in lieu of cold rolled channel with bridging clips, and 30% faster than cold rolled channel and welding.

These time savings are accomplished by:

reducing measuring time associated with positioning of cold rolled channel.
eliminating time required to place and screw clips.
reducing the handling of buckets of clips and screws.
eliminating the need for welding equipment and skilled welders.

The most important feature is the pre-notched slots of the TradeReady® SPAZZER®* 5400 bars versus the long lengths of unnotched cold rolled channel. A cold rolled channel installation requires significant time to measure, align, square and screw or weld.

A new concept saving significant time and money on old tasks.

BENEFITS

Eliminates measuring time associated with positioning long lengths of cold rolled channel on stud centers.
Eliminates time required to place and screw attach bridging clips to the stud and the cold rolled channel.
Eliminates the inconsistent results of the craftsman-sensitive task of welding.
Eliminates problems associated with having on-site welding equipment - power supply, maintenance, supplies, storage, theft and harmful fumes.
Joins the bridging function and the lay out function into one single function.
Retains studs in place up to and beyond the point of stud failure and collapse.
Bridging to stud connection not dependent on strength of screw thread.
